I love this place for our family for brunch because they have delicious healthy options for me and classic diner options for my kids. It's a win-win. There's an entire gluten free menu, lots of vegetarian options, and delicious buddha bowls. They also have beer on tap and an espresso machine. I like the atmosphere - it's like a diner but feels more Austin. They're also great for take out and kids.
Second time here and still hoping that I will love it but ... nope. There's a good selection of food with menus for gluten-free, breakfast and all-day. This time I had the veggie burger and my companion had one of the breakfast wraps. The veggie party was horrible - dry and tasteless. The wrap was OK but felt like something you could get at the supermarket for half the price. Everything was definitely overpriced for the (lack of) quality. The worst part of the meal was probably the coffee. It was so bad we just switched to water.
Service both times was lacking. The first time I was there some months ago, the order taker didn't know basic questions about the food and just stared at me with a frozen smile. This time around, the person didn't hand us order numbers, mugs or silverware, so we had to keep walking to and fro from the counter.
Our first time here. AMAZING! I got the chicumi steak wrap (added avacado) with chips and queso. My husband got the Blue Cheese Bacon burger with sweet potato fries. Love the atmosphere.
I came to Galaxy Cafe for dinner with a few friends. The chicken tortilla soup wasn’t great, tasted a bit stale and bland. The steak was decent and so was the mac n’ cheese side. Overall, I’d say the value for the money is pretty good and the food comes out rather quickly.
The coffee!!! The food!!! The staff!!! I ordered a migas wrap.... I couldn't finish it all but I didn't want to stop eating! It was 100% perfect! I ordered a macchiato, and a lady came out and asked EXACTLY how I wanted it made. It was, by far, the best macchiato I have ever had!
Still, The Best Breakfast in Austin!!!
👉Update: Come on, Galaxy, why are you cutting back on the b🥓con? And, my pancake keeps getting smaller!4 &1/2 ⭐️ today!

We chose Galaxy Café yesterday for their all-day breakfast (check the times, I believe it's 4 pm).
The food is excellent. It has been for years. Only the staff has changed.
Years ago, we met the kind and approachable owner, Kelly, at the West Lynn location.
My hubby and I prefer the Galaxy Bowl, American Breakfast, oatmeal (and its generous toppings), pancakes, coffee, orange juice, and various tea's.
Try their lunch and dinners too, and you will N⚾️T be disappointed.
The service was good, you order at the counter and they bring you your food, if you want more drinks you go to the counter and get it yourself which is nice so you are not waiting on people. I liked my burger, they have a large variety.
Friend brought me in for the first time for dinner. Very low key vibe for a Friday night, which is what I like. Had the Grilled Chicken with Mozzarella & Bacon Sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was great, chicken was flavorful, big pieces of mozzarella and ALOT of bacon! The Mac & Cheese was about average, but didn’t detract from the meal. Will return.
